In order to fulfill the tasks stipulated by the action plan for the protection of the rights of people with disabilities in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, at the first stage, sign language services were introduced in the Unified Service Center of the Patrol Police Department, providing access to up to 50 patrol police services for deaf and hearing-impaired citizens.
The inspectors of the Unified Service Center were trained in providing specifics services for persons with disabilities and sign language, herewith the service standard for persons with disabilities was created through which services are provided.
It should be noted that the administrative building of the Patrol Police Department is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. In particular, there is an elevator for people using wheelchairs, and for visually impaired citizens (blind, partially sighted) there are tactile paths, enabling citizens of the mentioned category the access to the space of the Unified Service Center.
In order to increase access to police services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a video call service model for deaf and hearing-impaired people was introduced at the telephone service center of the Patrol Police Department, as a result of which up to 50 patrol police services are remotely accessible to deaf and hearing-impaired citizens. The service is provided by an inspector of the Unified Service Center, who is trained in sign language.

The Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is constantly working on improving services for people with disabilities to create an inclusive and equal environment.
